Jokers and Pixels Rules
Overview: Jokers and Pixels is a board game for 2-8 players, played in teams or individually. The goal is to move all your circles from your start area to your home area using virtual cards. You connect with a mobile device to control the board, draw and play cards.
Setup:
- Players: 2-8, in teams (e.g., 4 players = 2 teams of 2) or individually.
- Board: Each player has a start area and a home area with 5 holes for circles.
- Marbles: Each player has 5 circles of their color.
- Cards: Use a standard deck (with jokers) per 4 players. Each player draws 5 cards with their device. (There are multiple decks stacked on each other so you won't need to worry about running out of cards while you play)
Gameplay:
- Turn: Draw a card, play/discard a card. Use the card to move your circle(s).
Movement:
- Number cards (2-10): Move a circle that many spaces.
- Ace: Move 1 space, 10 spaces or start a marble (from start to the main track).
- King/Queen/Jack: , 10 Move 10 spaces.
- Joker: Move any marble to any spot on the board (including home or knocking out opponents).
- 7: Split the 7 spaces between two marbles (e.g., 4 and 3).
- 8: Move 1 marble backwards 8 spaces.
- 9: Split the 9 spaces between 2 circles, 1 forwards and 1 backwards
- Starting: Use an Ace or a face card (King/Queen/Jack) to move a circle from start to the main track.
- Hitting an opponent: If you land on a space with an opponent’s marble, send it back to their start.
- Hitting a Teammate: If you land on a space with a teammate's circle, send it to the space right outside their home area.
- Home Area: Enter your home area by exact count (e.g., if 2 spaces away, you need a 2). Once in, circles are safe.
Winning:
- The first team (or player) to get all their circles into their home area wins.
- In team play, all players must get all circles home.
- In team player, once all your circles are in your home, you begin moving circles for the player to your left that still has circles in the game until the game is won.
Notes:
- You cannot move past your own marbles on the main track.
- If you can’t play a card, you must discard and end your turn.
